I am not the most fashionable person in the world–honestly, I do try to look good as I’d imagine most women do, but at the end of the day I will not sacrifice discomfort (or future joint pain) for style. One thing I’ve always admired on other young, hip-ish women were cute or funny printed t-shirts. They just never looked good on me. Ever. It’s inexplicable–I see them on other girls my size and I’m all “damn girl, look at you wear that t-shirt”. But, you know, sometimes we have to take risks in life, and when I read that Ladurée and Uniqlo were teaming up to sell a line of kitschy Paris/pastry themed t-shirts, I had to have one.

So after a tasty lunch at Verjus Sandwich, I scurried on over to find a whole wall of macaron-themed t-shirts.

Now if printed t-shirts weren’t my thing, then pastels really, really, really aren’t my thing. I know–what was I thinking buying a Ladurée t-shirt when I don’t like pastels? Well, I picked up this ridiculous black t-shirt with the Ladurée mascot, a French bulldog. It was the least pastel-y possible, and honestly ? I love it. I hardly own any Paris-paraphenalia… it seems silly when you live here, and I certainly don’t have anything this kitsch in my wardrobe. But it was the perfect pick-me-up for this too cloudy spring AND it wasn’t the typical price of things sold by Ladurée which is, umm, too much.

Perfect investment for any Paris nerd in your life. But my sources say they’re only there for a short time, so I’d scurry on over. And for those of you in the US, apparently you can order them at Uniqlo. They are sized relatively big.
