It was a short, sweet discovery of Basse Normandie this weekend. We were on a mission, and not a simple one. How do you decide where someone else should live ? I suppose the same way you decide where you would live–is there good food ? check. Kind people ? check. Proximity to family ? check. Stuff to do ? check. But most importantly, how do you feel when you are there ? good ? great !
We’ll see what the future holds for my belle maman, but in the meantime, I’ve developed quite the crush on the Bessin, Bayeux, the beaches. The ocean air and the very plump cows are only a small part of the appeal. Seriously, I can’t think of a single negative thing to say about the region, except, maybe, why haven’t I been there before ? If the dreamy photos below aren’t enough, feel free to question why you also haven’t moved to Normandy while reading through the archives of Chez Loulou. I’m back in Paris for the time being, but luckily the sea, the cider and the butter (oh the butter!) are only a 3 hour drive away. And I’ll be seeing them very soon, I’m sure.
